Kenneth J. "Ken" Pawlak

Kenneth J. “Ken” Pawlak, 71 of Peru, died at home surrounded by his family on July 3, 2016 after a lengthy illness.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Thursday in St. Joseph’s Catholic  Church in Peru with Monsignor J. Brian Rejsek and Rev. Harold Datzman OSB officiating.  Burial will be in Peru City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM Wednesday in the Hurst Funeral Home in LaSalle. Additional visitation will be from 10:00-10:30 AM Thursday in the funeral home.

Ken was born in LaSalle on March 8, 1945 to Edward and Sally (Pyszka) Pawlak. He married Patricia Maas in St. Roch’s Church in LaSalle on November 6, 1965. He retired from Comcast in Peru after 43 years of service.

Ken was a member of St. Valentine’s Church in Peru and the Fraternal Order of Peru Eagles Lodge #2688. He was an avid Green Bay Packer Fan. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, and going to the boat. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and his annual fishing trip with them to Red Cedar Lake in Wisconsin.

He is survived by his wife Pat of Peru; one son Steve (Missy) Pawlak of Peru and one daughter Sue (Noel) Zeman of Peru; five grandchildren; Marissa, Brandon, and Brent Pawlak, Brianna and Alli Zeman. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Jerome “Tabby” Pawlak.

Pallbearers will be Brandon and Brent Pawlak, Brady Biederstedt, Ron Pawlak, Jim Vogelsang, and John Smith.
