James “Jim” K. Carretto, 56 of Oglesby, died peacefully at home on February 26, 2017 surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Saturday in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of services.
Jim was born in Ottawa on August 30, 1960 to Peter and Anna (Yates) Carretto. He married Sandra Kotar in Holy Family Church in Oglesby on November 14, 1986. Jim along with his brother Chuck operated Garzanelli’s Supper Club in Oglesby for 42 years.
He loved riding his Harley with family and friends. He enjoyed playing golf with the Monday Night Men’s Golf League at Senica’s Oak Ridge. He was an avid Chicago Blackhawk and Michigan Wolverines fan. Jim also enjoyed traveling and doing projects around his house.
Jim is survived by his wife Sandra of Oglesby; one son Mario James Carretto and his girlfriend Morgan Ellena; his mother Anna Carretto of Ottawa; siblings, David Carretto of Ottawa, Pamela (Mike) Mills of Ottawa, Pete (Pam) Carretto of Ottawa and Charles (Nina) Carretto of Oglesby; several nieces and nephews and his furry friends, Capone and Auggie.
He was preceded in death by his father.
