Robert “Bob” W. Beard, 55, of 117 W. 2nd St., Oglesby died surrounded by his loved ones on February 23, 2017 in St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley after a brave battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 PM Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of services in the funeral home.
Bob was born in La Salle on December 27, 1961 to Robert D. and Ruth (Jones) Beard. He married Sandra Stuart in Ottawa on October 20, 1988. Bob worked at Fairmount Santrol Troy Grove. He enjoyed motorcycles, motocross, and fishing. He loved hanging out in his garage listening to his music and having a drink with family and friends.
Bob is survived by his wife Sandra of Oglesby; one son Colton Beard of Oglesby; two daughters Shante (Refugio) Avila of Granville and Kayla Beard of Mendota; four grandchildren Yesenia, Dominik, Anahi, and Julian Avila; two sisters Billie (Richard) Bibula of La Salle and Lori (Bob) Hafley of McNabb.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Rhonda Sack.
