Stanley “Tic Tic” J. Chemelewski, 98, of Peru passed away at 7:07 PM on August 12, 2016 in Illinois Valley Community Hospital.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00AM on Wednesday in St. Mary’s Church in Peru with Msgr. Brian Rejsek officiating. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in La Salle. Visitation will be Wednesday in the church from 10:00 AM until time of services. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Chemelewski was born in Peru on July 29, 1918 to Stanley and Mary (Kurek) Chemelewski. He married Esther Kessling on August 16, 1963. He retired in 1980 as an electrician at Carus Chemical. He was a member of St. Valentine’s Church in Peru. He was an avid walker; he enjoyed riding his bike and making clocks.
Mr. Chemelewski is survived by nieces and nephews: Audrey Castagna-Sharpe of Oglesby, David (Mary Kay) Chemelewski of IN, Ken (Joyce) Chemelewski of SC, Tad (Judy) Chemelewski of Kalamazoo, MI, Gary John (Nancy) Chemelewski of TX, Greg (Mary) Kessling of Joliet, Bill (Kay) Kessling of Henry, and Kathy (Eric) Harrison of East Peoria; a niece-in-law Sharon Kessling of Henry; and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Esther on July 29, 2015, one daughter Linda Corsale, two sisters Celia Chemelewski and Sophie Castagna, two brothers Tad Chemelewski and his twin brother Andy Chemelewski.
