Ronald F. Prokup

Ronald F. Prokup, 83, of The Villages, FL, formerly of Spring Valley & Ladd, passed away at 9:00 PM on March 12, 2017 in Cornerstone Hospice Center, The Villages. Ronald passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his loving family.

A Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, March 25 at 10:30 AM at St Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Jacob Valle officiating. Burial will be at Valley Memorial Park with full military services conducted by the Ladd American Legion Post #938. The Hurst Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Mr. Prokup was born August 23, 1933 in LaSalle to Frank and Emily (Wyciskalla) Prokup. He married Eddijo Chirinski on September 30, 1977. He graduated from Hall High School in 1951 and served in the US Army Signal Corp from 1953-1955. He was a route salesman for Perfect and Jays Potato Chips for 35 years before his retirement.

Survivors include his wife Eddijo; three daughters, Linda (Ronald) Kelsey of Peru, Tami Basteyns of Green Bay, WI, Annie (Matt) Swiatek of Lake Villa; six sons, Jack Prokup of IA, Larry Prokup of IA, Jamie (Janet) Prokup of Bevier, MO, Frank (Michele) Prokup of Clayton, N.C., Ronald (Brenna) Prokup of Lake Barrington, and Steven Prokup of Spring Valley; 18 grandchildren; two sisters, Janet (Dale) Sang of La Salle and Barbara (Gerald Schweickert) Riva of Ladd; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his younger brother William Prokup and one brother in infancy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cornerstone Hospice, The Villages, Florida.
