James D Peterson

  James D. Peterson, of Wenona, passed away at 11:25 AM Sunday (June 26, 2016) at his residence.

  He was born on November 6, 1942 in Streator to Donald & Loretta (Stager) Peterson.

  He is survived by 2 sons:  Eric (Michele) Peterson of Springfield; Tim (Paula) Peterson of Wenona; a sister, Donna (Wayne) Melvin of Wenona and a brother, Robert (Val) Peterson of Oglesby.

  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Nancy Peterson.

  He graduated from Wenona High School and served in the United States Army.  He retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation after 30 years of service.

  He was a member of the Wenona American Legion.

  James loved fishing, hunting and the Chicago Cubs.

  A private Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Wenona with interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Wenona.

  The Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona is in charge of the arrangements.
