Helen Z (Becker) West

   Helen Z. West, 94, of LaSalle, passed away at 7:03 AM Tuesday (Sept 29, 2015) at Manor Court in Peru.

  She was born on July 7, 1921 in Cumberland, Iowa to Gail &Wilma (Mountain) Becker.  She married Harry West on September 2, 1966.  He preceded her in death.

  She is survived by her children:  Robert (Sandy) Kiest of Mahomet, Karen (Gary) Edgcomb of LaSalle, Darrel (Susie) Kiest of Arlington, Debra (Rick) Owens of Dixon, TN, Betty (Bobby) Tribble of Rockford; a son-in-law, Paul Craig of Missouri; one brother, John (Alberta) Becker of Cumberland, IA; 19 grandchildren:  Jan Davis, Tracy Patterson, Brandy Carter, Paula Miller, Cindy Pullara, Jennifer Fulara, Jason Edgcomb, Joe Edgcomb, Shannon Belrose, Teresa Kiest, Wayne Kiest, Roxy Hoskins, Dawn Owens, Jeremy Owens, Denver Owens, Wesley Owens, Pam Owens, Shane Kiest and Kayla Tribble.

  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Jackie Craig and one brother, Ross Becker.

  She graduated from Cumberland High School and attended Business College.

  She had formerly worked at Westclox and the Highland Hospital in Belvidere.

  She loved to make quilts and loved to fish.  She made the best Apple Pie ever.

  A memorial visitation will be held from 10-11 AM Saturday (October 10, 2015) at the Hurst Funeral Home in LaSalle.  Memorial services will be held at 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home.  Rev. Ron Johnson will officiate.

  Memorials may be directed to St. Jude.
