Beulah (Woolcox) Brady, former Tonica resident passed away July 10, 2016 in Crimson Pointe Assisted Living Center, Rockford. 

Mrs. Brady was born January 17, 1922 in Oglesby, daughter of William and Ruth (Cross) Woolcox.  She graduated from Tonica High School in 1940 and married Harold Brady on November 14, 1942.  Beulah worked at Westclox for many years.  She was a member of the Tonica United Methodist Church and the Tonica United Methodist Women where she was known as the “ticket czar” for their annual turkey dinner.  She was also a member of the Thursday Club, the 20th Century Club and the Tonica Firettes.

She is survived by her daughter Cheryl (Neil) Shelton, son Rod (Gail) Brady, grandchildren Melissa and Megan Capponi, Sarah (Michael) Ogdon, Amy Mayberry, Daniel (Alexandra) Fleig, Ben Brady and Krista Fleig, and great grandchildren Zachary and Natalie Ogdon, Preston and Lilah Mayberry and Heidi Fleig.  She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Debra (Paul) Capponi, son Timothy, brothers Glenn, William, and David and her parents.

Special thanks to the staff at Crimson Pointe for their care and compassion, Rev. Deanna Mede and Rev. Scott Himel of Rockford and Rev. Mark Nowakowski of Tonica for their comforting words and prayers, and to Heartland Hospice.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, July 16 at the Tonica United Methodist Church with the Reverend Mark Nowakowski officiating with a luncheon to follow.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Tonica United Methodist Church would be appreciated. Arrangements are being handled by the Hurst Funeral Home in Tonica.
