Anne B. Maas

Anne B. Maas, 89 of La Salle, died peacefully and surrounded by her family in her home at 6:15 AM September 18, 2016.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday in the Trinity United Church of Christ in La Salle with Pastor Betty Delgado officiating.  Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in La Salle.  Visitation will be in the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time of services.   The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Maas was born in Oglesby on January 15, 1927 to Joseph and Mary (Siolz) Barbic.  She married John P. Moriarity  in July of 1947.  He died August of 1974.  She then married Herbert Maas in October of 1995.  She was a homemaker.  She also worked at Holiday Inn as an Administrative Assistant for many years and retired from the Days Inn as Manager in 1996.

Anne is survived by her husband Herbert of La Salle; two daughters, Kathy Kitchen of Chesterfield,MO and Sharon Meyer of Peoria; two sons, Jack(Shelley)Moriarity of La Salle and Michael Moriarity of La Salle; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Jacob, Ronald, Taylor, Kirstin, Brittany and Rachel; two great-grandchildren, Riley Rogers and David Ryan Meyer; two brothers, John Barbic of La Salle and Joseph Barbic of Tucson,AZ.; two sisters, Mary Rudzinski of Oglesby and Angeline(Joseph)Torchia of Peru.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, William Moriarty, two daughters, Cheryl Moriarity and Mary Stoner, two brothers and one sister.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cops4Cancer or Trinity United Church of God.
