Zeta Ousec

Zeta Ousec, 91, of La Salle, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2022 in OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Friday May 27, 2022 in St. Patrick’s Church in La Salle with Mgsr. Dale Wellman officiating.  Burial will be in St. Vincent’s Cemetery in La Salle.  Visitation will be in the church on Friday from 9:00 AM until time of services.  The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is entrusted with her services.

Mrs. Ousec was born in Peru on December 11, 1930 to Joseph and Agnes (Jakubiak) Kujawa.  She married Wayne H. Ousec in St. Patrick’s Church on October 10, 1953. Mrs. Ousec was a homemaker and lifetime member of St. Patrick’s Church, Ladies of Charity, St. Anne’s Sodality, and the decoration committee.

Mrs. Ousec is survived by two daughters Mary Smigel of Lancaster, PA and Jane Ousec of La Salle; five grandchildren Holly (Chris) Lawrence, Kimberly (Kyle) Wittenauer, Samatha (Greg) Bixler, Stephen Smigel, and Sean Smigel; and one great grandson Cooper Bixler.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne on December 25, 1992, one daughter Julie O’Connor, a grandson Michael Smigel, great granddaughter Piper Bixler, son-in-law Gary Smigel, and her sister Rita Heffron.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Church.
