William "Billy" J. Repsel

William “Billy” J. Repsel, 83, of La Salle, passed away August 20, 2025 at Allure Nursing Home in Peru.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, August 24, at the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle with Rev. Alex Garncarz officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday from 11:00 AM until time of services.

Bill was born in Peru on May 12, 1942 to Anton and Laura (VanMall) Repsel. He married Marla Wiese on November 15, 2001. He owned Repsel Trucking and was an independent mail carrier for the United States Post Office. He and his wife owned and operated Bill and Marla’s Bar in La Salle until retiring until 2017. He was a hardworking man.

Billy was loved by everyone he met. If you met him, you had to love him.

Bill is survived by his wife, Marla of La Salle; three children, Kevin (Julie) Repsel of La Salle, Billy (Martha) Repsel Jr. of TN, and Jimmy Repsel of TN; stepsons, Kevin (Brittany) Twardowski of Peru and Carl Bekeleski of Peru; four grandchildren, Sabastian, Alexis, Jaxon, and Matthew; and one great grandson, Jason.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Dick Repsel, and sister, Shirley Uranich.
