William J. Gahan III

William J. Gahan III, 68, of La Salle, passed away December 19, 2022 at Heritage Health in Peru.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at St. Valentine’s Church in Peru with Rev. J.A. Small officiating. Burial will be in Peru City Cemetery. Visitation will be in the church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of services. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is assisting the family with arrangements.

Bill was born in Utica, NY on December 1, 1954 to William and Mary (Serby) Gahan Jr. He was a car salesman for various dealerships in La Salle County. He married Susan Lindenmeyer on May 22, 2007. Bill was an avid sports fan, especially following the Chicago Cubs and Bears. He enjoyed fishing. He was an animal lover and enjoyed his cat, Rusty.

Bill is survived by his wife Susan of La Salle; one daughter Nicole (Ken) Rigan of Minooka; one son Joshua Gahan of Peru; one stepson William Wozniak of La Salle; one sister Laurie (Hugh) Quinn of New Jersey; one brother Daniel Gahan of Utica; two nieces Lynsey (Nick) Stanmar of La Salle and Julie (Kevin) Repsel of Utica; two nephews Jason (Amy) Gahan of Peru and Eric Gahan of TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Gary and Larry Gahan.
