Wayne Pinter Obituary

Wayne R. Pinter, 76, of Arlington passed away on February 3, 2021.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Tuesday in Holy Trinity Church in Cherry with Rev. Patrick Fixsen officiating.  Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Cherry with full military honors conducted by the Ladd American Legion.  Masks will be required.  Livestreaming of Wayne’s funeral mass will be at Bureaucatholic.org.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7:00 PM Monday in the Hurst Funeral Home in Ladd.  Additional visitation will be in the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time of services.

Wayne was born in Mendota, IL to Leroy and Lucille (Gillian) Pinter on October 5, 1944.  He went to school at Cherry Grade School and Hall High School.  He married Barbara (Greskiwcz) Pinter on September 4, 1965 at St. Mary’s Church in West Brooklyn, IL.    He worked as a carpenter for over 30 years and was owner of Quality Building Systems.   He was a veteran of Vietnam conflict 1965-1968 and served in the Navy at Alameda Naval Air Station in Oakland, CA.    He was a member of Holy Catholic Church and served as a Trustee for over 20 years.  He was a member of school board for Cherry Grade School for 12 years and a past member of the American Legion.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents Leroy and Lucille Pinter.

Wayne is survived by his spouse Barbara Pinter, his children Valerie (Rich) Keeney, Cherry, IL; Greg (Angie) Pinter, Spring Valley, IL; Jeff (Sheila) Pinter, Malden, IL; Nadine (Bob) Powell, Lake Barrington, IL; Matt (Rachel) Pinter, LaSalle, IL; Dan (Elizabeth) Pinter, Ladd, IL and Veronica (Brandon) Luster, Fort Collins, CO.  He is also survived by six (6) siblings, Gerald Pinter, Melvin Pinter, Larry Pinter, Ron Pinter, Debbie Pinter and Mark Pinter.  He has 18 grandchildren Ryan Keeney, Kimie Keeney, Tony Keeney, Jordyn Pinter, Kaylee Turpin, Hannah Pinter, Kyle Pinter, Corey Pinter, Owen Powell, Olivia Powell, Jaxson Pinter, Henry Pinter, Addie Luster, Katie Luster, Bella Pinter, Oliver Pinter, Fritz Pinter and Otto Pinter. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be given to Wayne’s favorite charities, which include St. Jude, Shriners, Struthers Parkinson Center and Holy Trinity Catholic Church. 

Wayne did not want any flowery words, but his family would like to you to know that he was a wonderful husband and tremendous father and grandfather.  He will be deeply missed.

Pallbearers are Wayne’s grandsons.  Readings and the gifts will be done by his granddaughters.
