Viola Iattoni, 96, long time Ladd resident, passed away peacefully March 27, 2018 at Heritage Healthcare in Peru.
Funeral services will be 11:30 AM on April 7, 2018 at the Hurst Funeral Home in Ladd with Rev. Gregory Jarzombek OSB officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of services in the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in the Ladd Cemetery.
Viola was born March 12, 1922 in Ladd, the daughter of Arthur and Bertha (Moellering) Wiese. She graduated from Hall High School in 1940. She then married Joseph Iattoni on February 14, 1942. He preceded her in death on May 13, 1980.
She worked at Westclox, Bassicks and retired from Harper Wyman after 25 years of service. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, embroidery, baking, and sewing.
Mrs. Iattoni is survived by three daughters: Jan Doyle of Peru, Joanie Washkowiak of St. Charles, and Marcy (Jim) Pajcic of Mt. Prospect. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Christine (Jeff) LaMour, Jenny (John) Hess, John (Tyler Wherry) Doyle, Doug Washkowiak, Vicki (Kent) Taylor, Vanessa, (Chris) Gates, Mitch Pajcic and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, brothers: Arthur, Grover, John, William, and Melvin Wiese.
Memorials may be directed toward St. Bede Abbey or the donor’s choice.
