Thomas Harzheim Obituary

Thomas G. Harzheim, 75, of Peru, passed away on September 29, 2023 in Allure of Peru.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Private graveside will be at a later date in Peru City Cemetery. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is entrusted with Tom’s arrangements.

Mr. Harzheim was born in Peru on February 21, 1948 to Joe and Martha (Dean) Harzheim. He married Joyce Bernardi on October 30, 1970. He served with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968 where he was aboard the USS Bennington.

Tom worked for over 30 years at Flint Hills Resources in Peru. He also owned and operated along with Joyce, Tom’s Church Street Tap in Peru.

Tom is survived by one son Joseph Harzheim; two daughters, Melissa (Leon) Noel and Laura Jackson; four grandsons, Tyler, Josh, Jacob and Landon; three brothers, Frank (Carol) Harzheim, Joseph (Rosa) Harzheim and Michael Harzheim.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joyce on January 27, 2023 one brother John, and numerous in-laws.
