Tabitha “Jennifer” McKenzie

Tabitha “Jennifer” McKenzie, 45, of La Salle, passed away unexpectedly at home on October 16, 2023 after years of ill health.

A Celebration of Life will be 5-6:00 PM Monday at the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle.

Tabitha was born in Peru on August 12, 1978 to James Roy and Michelle (Schwartz) Mennem.  She was a homemaker.  She loved cats, enjoyed crafting, cooking, listening to music and dancing.

Tabitha is survived by her mother Michelle Schwartz of Spring Valley; her daughter Serena McKenzie of Spring Valley; significant other Jason Kmetz of La Salle; two brothers, Dan Mennem of Oglesby and Jason Schwartz of Peru; one aunt Jacki Valdez of Ottawa.

She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents and a uncle.
