Susan R. Billhorn

Susan R. Billhorn, 67, of Spring Valley, passed on February 6, 2020 surrounded by her family in OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria after a short battle with cancer.

A Celebration of Life will be Wednesday from 4 to 7:00 PM in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle. Hawaii was Susan’s favorite place on earth. In honor of her, please wear your favorite Hawaiian outfit or accessory. Burial will be private.

Susan was born in Adams, WI on January 27, 1953 to Robert and Margaret (Wittenkeller) Armstrong.  She worked at Walmart Distribution Center for the past 20 years.

Susan enjoyed gardening and traveling.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially sleep overs.

She is survived by two daughters, Kelly Armstrong of Tonica and Jennifer (Tracy Ford) Billhorn of Ottawa; one son, Kevin (Pam Schmollinger) Wilfong of Spring Valley; four grandchildren, Jake and Sam Obermiller, Keira Wilfong and Xander Ford. She is also survived by her sisters Nancy Walker of CDA, Idaho, Margie Rider of Bloomington, Barb Ramsey of El Paso, Rose (Jim) Anke of Sevierville, TN, and Julie Gale of East Peoria; her brothers Jim (Susie) Armstrong of East Peoria and Bob (Bonnie) Armstrong of Talent, Oregon; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law Ruth and Ken Keller, her sister Carol Meyer, brother Jack Armstrong, and brother-in-law Wayne Gale. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, John Granacher.
