Shirley J. Everding, 89, of Peru, formerly of Princeton, passed away January 23, 2025 at Manor Court of Peru.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the Golden Congregational Church in Ryan, IA. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle has been entrusted with her arrangements.
Mrs. Everding was born in Benton on December 9, 1935 to John Douglas and Shelly (Anthony) Price. She married Dick Everding on August 6, 1955. She worked for Bureau Services in Princeton. She was an avid reader and loved researching genealogy.
Mrs. Everding is survived by three sisters Martha Kranicki, Phyllis Travelstead, Pat (Bob) Ellis all of Marion; two daughters-in-law Peggy Everding of Yukon, OK and Sharon Gilbertson-Everding of Peru; two granddaughters; nine great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dick on February 25, 2019, two sons Robert and Richard “Rick” Everding, two granddaughters Jennifer and Erinleigh, five brothers, and a sister in infancy.
