Sharon Somolski, 78, of La Salle, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2020 in OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Saturday in St. Patrick’s Church in La Salle with The Very Rev. Paul Carlson officiating. Burial will be in St. Vincent’s Cemetery in La Salle.
Visitation will be in the church from 9:30 AM until time of services. The Hurst Funeral in La Salle is handling arrangements.

Sharon was born in Peru on March 8, 1942 to George and Rose (Vescogni) Sczepaniak. She married John A. Somolski Sr. on August 12, 1961. She co-owned the Village Mart in Ladd and then co-owned John’s North Star in La Salle.
Sharon enjoyed golfing, gardening and fishing. She loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She was happy, caring, loving and always had a smile.
Sharon is survived by one son John (Katie) Somolski of Peru and one daughter Rene Ferruggia of North Plainfield, N.J.; one granddaughter Jacquelyn and four grandsons, Alex, Tommy, Johnny and Khory; one sister Diane Bartels of Sevierville, TN and one brother Bob (Mary) Sczepaniak of Peru.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband John on March 25, 2013.
