Sharon E. Gerdes, 67, of Bloomington, formerly of Gridley, passed away July 8, 2021 in Heritage Health in Bloomington.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Monday in St. Mary’s Church in Wenona with the Franciscan Friars officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be in the Church on Monday from 10:00 AM until time of services.
Sharon was born in Streator on November 19, 1953 to William and Marilyn (Ede) Nolan. She graduated at the St. Francis School of Nursing in Peoria. She worked as a Pediatric Registered Nurse at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington for over 33 years. She married Loren Gerdes on July 10, 1981. She was past president and member of Christ Child Society of Peoria. She enjoyed sewing and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her husband Loren of Bloomington, one daughter; Lauren (John) Kramer of Bloomington, two sons; Nolan (Devin) Gerdes of Standard and David (Laura) Gerdes of Madison, AL, six grandchildren; BriLynn, Zoey, Joslyn, Matthew, Lilian, and Clara, one sister; Margaret Nolan of Elgin, and one brother; Msgr. Timothy Nolan of Delavan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Gerald “Jerry” Nolan and Michael Nolan.
