Ruth H. Nauman, 87, of Peru, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024 at Manor Court of Peru.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11:30 AM Saturday, December 28, at St. Valentine’s Church in Peru with the Very Rev. Gary Blake officiating. Burial will be at Peru City Cemetery. Visitation will be in the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of services. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle has been entrusted with her arrangements.
Ruth was born in Peru on March 7, 1937 to John P. and Veronica “Vernie” (Rogalla) Petzel. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Commercial High School in 1953. She married Stanley Nauman on July 14, 1956. She worked at Westclox in Peru until 1956 and then was a homemaker raising her four children. In later years, she helped her daughter with daycare and was known as "Grandma Ruth” to the kids.
Ruth was a member of St. Valentine’s Church in Peru. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by three sons Richard (Joleen) Nauman of Ladd, Raymond (Susan) Nauman of Peru, and Robert Nauman of Oglesby; one daughter Renee (Elliott) Kwiatek of Peru; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Stan on September 14, 2008, her brother Chester Petzel, and a grandson in infancy.
