Russell N. McKee

Russell N. McKee, 54, of Peru, passed away October 9, 2024 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Peru.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday October 14 at the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle with Rev. Tom Redig, pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Peru, officiating. Burial will be in Berean Cemetery in rural Ladd. Visitation will be 4-7:00 PM on Sunday in the funeral home. Additional visitation will be Monday at 9:00 AM until time of services.

Russ was born in Spring Valley on January 4, 1970 to Dale and Marilyn (Russell) McKee. He was a graduate of Hall High School, IVCC, and Illinois State University. He married Kimberly Lamps on June 7, 1997. He worked at R&R Donnelly. After they closed, he started working at Fairmount Minerals and later went to Home Depot where he worked as a Pro Associate.

Russ enjoyed fishing, golfing, and general carpentry, also his antique car and attending car shows. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Russ is survived by his wife Kim of Peru; twin children Blake and Madde; one brother Todd (Linda) McKee of Princeton; two nieces Kelly Grabill of Ladd and Whitney McNabb of Princeton; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; his in-laws Bruce and Bev Lamps of Peru; and his dog Tilly.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Bret McKee.

Memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Pinter, Greg Gillan, Eric Haun, Gregg Maggio, Scott Lenkaitis, and Doug Thurman.
