Ronald Summers Obituary

Ronald J. Summers, 88, of La Salle, passed away, November 15, 2023, in OSF St. Anthony’s Medical Center in Rockford.

Private graveside services will be at a later date. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is entrusted with his services.

Mr. Summers was born in Dixon on December 6, 1934 to Jewel and Kathryn (Koehler) Summers. He married Elaine Loebach on July 11, 1953. He retired in 1996 as a Boilermaker with Local #60.

Mr. Summers is survived by one daughter Cathy (Doug) Tomlinson of La Salle, one son Chris (Debbie) Summers of Sheffield, four grandchildren; Steve (Jerilynn) Summers of Utica, Jamie (Dan) Atherton of Plainfield, Brian Summers of Chicago, and Nicole Summers of La Salle, six great-grandchildren; McKenzie, Italy, Colin, Hailey, Riley, and Bradley, one sister Mary (Merle) Guth of Metamora.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Elaine on September 9, 1997, and two sister; Evelyn Liesse and Berneice Skotnicki.
