Ronald G. Lindner, 81, of Peru, passed away September 19, 2023 surrounded by his loving family at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.
Mass of Christian burial will be 12:00 PM Saturday, September 30 at St. Mary’s Church in Utica with Rev. Michael Driscoll officiating. Burial will be in Ladd Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00-11:30 AM Saturday, September 30 at the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle.
Ron was born in La Salle on September 29, 1941. He married Kathy Jo Campeggio on August 19, 1967 in St. Roch’s Church in La Salle with Father Richard Fitzsimmons officiating. Ron served in the far east as a member of the United States Air Force from 1961-1964. He worked at Sundstrand Hydro-Transmission in La Salle from 1965-1994, then Harper-Wyman in Princeton from 1994 until November of 2002 as Director of Strategic Procurement, and later at Mennie’s Machine Company in Mark from 2003 to present as Materials Manager. Ron taught part-time at IVCC from 1981-2011 in the Business and Engineering Division.
He was a member of the former St. Roch’s, then Resurrection Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society. He was past president of the St. Roch’s Parish Council, St. Roch’s Holy Name, La Salle Catholic School Board, and a past member of the Illinois Valley United Way Board. He is currently a member of St. Mary’s Parish in Utica, where he has served on the parish council and as a lector. He is also a member of the K of C Calvert Council 1775 of Utica.
Ron was a wonderful man who loved his family, friends, and his faith.
Ron is survived by his wife Kathy Jo; two daughters Lisa (Chris) Thieme and Maria (Mike Schieber) Lindner; one grandson Shay Reis; five step grandchildren Esben, Siera, Byron, Eviey, and Daisy; very special nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews; and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Farris, John Wetzel, Ed Liss, Dom Rivara, Greg Rivara, Michael Rivara, Jeff Rivara, Tom Dzik, Jim Stimac, Joe Smoode, Tim Weberling, and Julie Kubelewski.
The family extends a great thank you to the Mennie family for all their support, love, and friendship through the years.
