Robin Marie Sienkiewicz, 69, of La Salle, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Peru on February 16, 2025.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Monday, February 24, at St. Hyacinth’s Church in La Salle with Rev. J.A. Small officiating. Burial will be at St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery in La Salle. Visitation will be Sunday, February 23, from 4 to 7:00 PM at St. Hyacinth’s Church in La Salle and additional visitation on Monday in the church from 10:00 AM until times of services. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle has been entrusted with her arrangements.
Robin was born in West Chicago on August 11, 1955 to Edward W. and Marilyn M. (Maxwell) Heiser. She lived in Harvard and moved to La Salle in 1974 to attend St. Mary’s Hospital Nursing program in La Salle. She married John J. Sienkiewicz on November 22, 1975 at St. Hyacinth’s Church in La Salle. In 2020, she retired as an LPN at Illinois Valley Community Hospital as an audit nurse.
Robin was a member of St. Hyacinth’s Church. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, going out to eat, and spending time in the backyard with friends and family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and going to their events.
Robin is survived by her husband John of La Salle; two daughters Sara Lyn (Joe) Legrenzi of La Salle and Rachel Sienkiewicz of La Salle; four grandchildren Raymo, Gio, Matthew, and Lilian Mae; one sister Regina (Chuck Holden) Heiser; and two brothers Scott Heiser and Spencer Heiser.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Matthew J. Sienkiewicz, and her in-laws John and Bernice Schibrowsky.
