Robert “Jake” Scholle, 71, of Tonica passed away March 20, 2020 peacefully in his home.
Graveside services will be 11:30 AM Tuesday in Fairview Cemetery in Tonica with Rev. Thomas Otto officiating. Burial will follow with full military services conducted by the Tonica American Legion. The Hurst Funeral Home in Tonica is handling services.
Jake was born in La Salle on July 30, 1948 to Frank and Lucille (Bump) Scholle. He married Sandy McLaughlin. Jake joined the US Army during the Vietnam War where he did three tours and received two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. He later worked as a truck driver with B & B Trucking Inc. He was a member the Catholic War Veterans.
Jake is survived by his wife Sandy of Tonica; four children, Jerry (Kathy) Parker of Hennipen, Candia Parker of Peoria, Shawn (Paul) Dressel of Redondo Beach, CA and Jamie (Nicole) Scholle of La Salle; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters Sharon (Ron) Kuhar of Surprise, AZ and Mary (Vic) Miranda of DePue; and one brother Don “Sheep Dog” Scholle of La Salle.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother David.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Parker, Dennis Uzella, Don and Dan Breckenridge, Mike Supan, and Ed Flynn.
