Robert “Bob” Dale Pinter

Robert “Bob” Dale Pinter, 66, of Peru, passed away on May 20, 2025 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. 

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 28, at the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle with Rev. Dominic Garramone OSB officiating. Burial will be at Peru City Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, May 27, at the funeral home. Additional visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of services.

Bob was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in LaSalle, IL on August 17, 1958 to Robert and Mary (Damm) Pinter. He married Debbie Washkowiak on March 7, 1981 in Peru. She survives.

Also surviving are his two sons, Barry (Salina Hazelwood) Pinter of East Peoria and Derek (Marie) Pinter of Oglesby; three grandchildren, Zoe Thatcher, Gabriel Pinter and Emelia Pinter; four brothers, Mark (Eloide) Pinter of Peru, Alan (Donna) Pinter of Springfield, Jim (Julie) Pinter of Princeton, Bill (Marianne) Pinter of Ottawa; three brothers-in-law, Dennis (Linda) Washkowiak of Granville, Gary (Nancy) Washkowiak of Ottawa, David Washkowiak of Mercedes, TX and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers David, in infancy, and Michael “Mike” Pinter; his in-laws Arthur and Esther Washkowiak; and sister-in-law Connie Ott.

Bob grew up on the family farm and graduated from LaMoille High School in 1975. He proudly worked as a body mechanic for over 40 years between Vogel’s JP Chevrolet in LaSalle, Faber Motors in Princeton, B & M Autobody in Mendota, and Giovanni’s Auto in Peru.  After retiring from being a mechanic he worked at Home Depot in Peru until 2022.

He loved his family dearly and especially loved spending time with his dogs Clifford, Buddy and Gidget. He also enjoyed golfing, hunting, watching old westerns, building things, watching for upcoming storms, and sitting outside feeding the birds and squirrels.

The family would like to express their immense gratitude to Manor Court Nursing Home for their amazing care, to OSF Peru’s ER doctors, nurses, and aides, and finally to all of the staff at OSF Peoria including the doctors, nurses, aides, and Palliative Care.
