Robert “Bob” Marini

Robert “Bob” Marini, 90, of Peru, passed away October 12, 2023 in the Illinois Veterans Home at La Salle.

Private graveside services will be at a later date in Peru City Cemetery.  The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is entrusted with Bob’s funeral services.

Bob was born in La Salle on May 31, 1933 to Mathew and Mary (Monterastelli) Marini.  He served his county in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955.  When he returned home, he married Constance Hylla.

Bob worked at EUC in La Salle until the factory closed and then American Nickeloid in Peru until his retirement.  He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Peru, the South Shore Boat Club and Cedar Point Sportsman’s Club.  He enjoyed travel and his many years of snowmobiling.

Bob is survived by his brother Ken (Sharon) Marini of Minnesota; his children, Deb (Henry) Hackman of Texas, Ron (Amy) Marini of Peru, Greg Marini of Michigan and Kathy (Mark) Theesfeld of La Salle; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Connie, a sister Mildred Landers and a grandson Andy Marini.
