Rita L. (Zulz) Marshall

Rita L. (Zulz) Marshall, 94, of Streator formerly of Wenona passed away on June 13, 2022 at Heritage Manor Streator.  She had been a resident there for 10 years and received outstanding care by the staff.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday June 18, at St. Mary’s Church in Wenona, with the Franciscan Friars officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM  until 11:00 AM Saturday at the church prior to the funeral mass. Burial will be in the Wenona City Cemetery. The Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona is assisting the family with arrangements.

Rita was born in Wenona on September 10, 1927 to Frank and Helen (Konetski) Zulz.  She married Rolland Marshall in Wenona on September 15, 1945.  He preceded her in death on February 12, 2015.

Surviving are three sons, David Marshall of Geneseo, Daniel (Patricia) Marshall of El Paso, and Timothy (Linda) Marshall of Streator; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frank Zulz Jr.; brother, Charles Zulz; sister, Kathryn Harms; daughter-in-law, Barb Marshall; and granddaughter, Rebeca Marshall Curtis

Rita was an employee of Oak State Products in Wenona for 27 years retiring in 1991.

She loved spending time with her family and friends, playing bingo, and was a completely devoted wife and mother.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
