Richard “Rick” J. Miller, 69, of Wenona passed away at home on February 1, 2026.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Friday, February 6, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wenona with the Franciscan Friars officiating. Burial will be at Cumberland Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, February 5, at the Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona. Additional visitation will be in the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until time of services.
Rick was born in Streator on June 2, 1956 to Willis Henry and Mary Esther (Marchesi) Miller. He married Beatrice Urbance on October 13, 1978 at St. Anthony’s Church in Streator. Rick worked in fuel and lubrication sales and owned his own business, Miller Service Co.
Rick was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and served as a Wenona City Council Member. He loved classic cars and was a member of multiple car clubs.
Rick is survived by his wife, Beatrice of Wenona, one daughter, Sara (Aaron Schmidt) Miller of Chicago, two brothers, Terry (Carol) Miller and Ken (Mary) Miller both of Toluca, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two nephews, Christopher Miller and Ross Henry.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Moroni, Mike Salz, Tom Wilken, Mike Hogan, Adam Salz, Aaron Schmidt. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Miller, Ken Miller, Brian Miller, and Brandon Urbance.
Memorials may be directed to the Wenona Fire Department, Eastern Marshall County EMS, or the American Cancer Society.
