Richard “Rick” Everding, 68, of Peru, passed away September 4, 2024 at Rush Hospital in Chicago.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Celebration of Life will be at a later date. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle has been entrusted with his arrangements.
Rick was born in Melrose Park on February 29, 1956 to Richard D. and Shirley (Price) Everding. He married Sharon Gall on September 6, 2015. He graduated from Princeton High School in 1974 and attended Bradley University. Rick was a carpenter and worked for Adview Company and then Someone’s in the Kitchen.
Rick was a perfect complement to Sharon. He was a quiet, hardworking, loving, generous, and extremely patient when dealing with his family. He was gifted with many skills and could do anything he put his mind to.
Rick is survived by his wife Sharon Gilbertson of Peru; his mother Shirley Everding of Peru; one daughter Jennifer (Nick) Brolley of Washington; four grandsons Cruise, Dean, Knox, and Leo Brolley; and sister-in-law Peg Everding of Yukon, OK.
He was preceded in death by his father Richard and one brother Robert Everding.
