Richard W. Koehler

Richard W. Koehler, 92, of La Salle passed away peacefully on March 2, 2023 at St. Margaret’s Health in Spring Valley.

Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is assisting his family with arrangements.

Mr. Koehler was born in Peru on August 26, 1930 to Walter and Estelle (Golatka) Koehler. He married Rosemary Mueller on June 21, 1980 in St. Valentine’s Church in Peru. He was a graduate of LPO and Bradley University, where he received his business degree. Rich then served for two and a half years with the United States Army overseas in Germany during the Korean War. He was then owner of Koehler’s Mensware in La Salle for over 30 years.

Mr. Koehler is survived by one stepson Bill (Becky) Mueller, one stepdaughter Jane (Tom) Pomije, four step grandchildren, and three step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rosemary, one brother Ken Koehler, and one sister Jean Boick.
