Richard Dean, 76, of Spring Valley passed away at home on January 1, 2025.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle has been entrusted with Mr. Dean’s arrangements.
Mr. Dean was born in Hastings, NE on June 23, 1948 to Earl Elmer and Anna (Kittleson) Dean. He was enlisted with United States Air Force and was stationed in Texas. He married Janet Draper on March 20, 1971. He worked as an engineer for the Peru Fire Department. He also had his CDL driving for different companies.
Mr. Dean was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. He was a photographer even photographing weddings. He was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed going to Wrigley Field.
Mr. Dean is survived by his wife Janet of Spring Valley; one son Richard (Marlowe) Dean of McNabb; one daughter Toni Dean of Spring Valley; five grandchildren Kellsey (Dusty) Myers, Erika Dean, Leena Dean, Kyle Maggio, and Taree Goulding; two brothers Terry (Priscila) Dean and Jeff (Leanne) Dean; one sister Sheryl (Jeff) Curran; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
