Ramona “Mona” I. Rogel, 63, of Peru, passed away March 3, 2021 in St. Margaret’s Health in Peru.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday in Zion United Church of Christ in Peru with Rev. Alex Garncarz officiating. Visitation will be Sunday in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle from 4 to 7:00 PM. Masks will be required. The services will be live streamed via the Hurst Funeral Home Facebook page.
Additional visitation will be on Monday in the church from 10:00 AM until time of services.
Mona was born in Peru on March 9, 1957 to Andy and Edith (Margherio) Dergance. She married Joseph Rogel on October 16, 1976.
She worked as a pharmacist tech at Walgreen’s.
Mona enjoyed playing cards. She was crowned the queen of skip-bo. She loved spending time with her family, going out to dinner and the queen of making Christmas cookies. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Mona is survived by her husband Joseph Rogel of Peru; one daughter Amy Rogel of Peru and one son Thomas (Stacy) Rogel of Oglesby; three grandchildren, Tanner, Aiden and Parker; two sisters, Mary (Jim) Thies of Oglesby, Pat (John) Swift of Florida; three brothers, Andy (Cindy) Dergance of Peru, John (Karen) Dergance of Spring Valley and Ed (Mary) Dergance of La Salle.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one nephew Brian Swift.
Pallbearers will be John Swift, Dennis Patterson, John and Ed Dergance, Billy Entrican and Rusty Thies.
