Pauline A. Harsted, 87, of Wenona, passed away peacefully at home on December 26, 2022 surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, December 31, at Zion Lutheran Church in Wenona with Rev. Peter Glock officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Wenona. Visitation will be in the church on Saturday from 9:30 AM until time of services. The Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Harsted was born in Wenona on May 15, 1935 to Herbert and Ella (Strauch) Himmler. She is a 1953 graduate of Wenona High School. She married Olaf “Gene” Harsted on June 6, 1954. For many years, she worked at the Bond Library in Wenona.
Mrs. Harsted was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and puzzles. She and her husband, Gene, enjoyed traveling. Mrs. Harsted loved spending time with her family.
Mrs. Harsted is survived by her husband Gene of Wenona; two children Vicki (Jerry) Lindgren of Wenona and Dave (Tracy) Harsted of Minonk; six grandchildren Ryan Lindgren, Luke (Shannon) Lindgren, Beth (Alex) Wilson, Chelsey (Shannon) Bonnell, Quentin Harsted, and Aiden Harsted; two great-grandchildren Averie and Blayne Bonnell; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Toby.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Paula Jean in infancy in 1955, and two brothers Marvin and Art Himmler.
Pallbearers will be Luke Lindgren, Alex Wilson, Quentin Harsted, Aiden Harsted, Shannon Bonnell, and Tom Reband. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Lindgren, Beth Wilson, Chelsey Bonnell, and Shannon Lindgren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church, Bond Public Library, St. Jude, or donor’s choice.
