Paul Valdez Jr.

Paul “King Paully” Valdez Jr., 54, of La Salle, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on January 1, 2026.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be at a later date.  The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is entrusted with funeral arrangements.

Paul was born in Ottawa on July 13, 1971 to Paul and Donna (Daugherty) Valdez Sr.  He worked at Walmart in Peru.  He married Elizabeth Strozewski on March 28, 2022.

Paul loved watching his wife cook and playing Fortnite.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth of La Salle; one brother Ronnie Valdez of La Salle; two sisters, Marisa Valdez of Texas and Tiffany (William) Byrne of Spring Valley; his step-mother Lori (Paul) Valdez of Texas; nine nephews; twelve nieces; and many cats.

He was preceded in death by his mother Donna Daugherty, sister, Candy Sue Valdez, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
