With hearts both heavy and full, we celebrate the beautiful life of Patricia “Patti” L. Tyner, 61, of Bloomington, who entered the Kingdom of Heaven on May 20, 2025.
Patti was born in Streator, IL on April 15, 1964 to Charles and Carol (Seibel) Stenzel. She graduated from Wenona High School in 1982 and Illinois State University in 1986. Patti loved solving problems as a Software Engineer at State Farm and was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Bloomington.
She loved deeply and lived with an unwavering devotion to her family. With a “family first” mindset, Patti cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchild, mother, brothers and sisters, and nieces and nephews.
Patti welcomed everyone she met with open arms into her home. A beacon of warmth and joy, she had an incredible ability to light up a room with her fun-loving nature, her presence filling every space with laughter, kindness, and an effortless grace. She had a way of turning ordinary moments into beautiful memories, always reminding us to appreciate the simple joys in life.
Patti is survived by her four children Caitlin (Matthew) Kovarik, Brandon Pongracz, Erin (Ben Schimpf) Pongracz, and Jorie (Dylan Schmitt) Pongracz; one granddaughter Sparrow and one on the way; six siblings Anne (Jack) Newhalfen, Chuck (Joyce) Stenzel, Dave (Sharon) Stenzel, Don (Janice) Stenzel, Linda (Donnie) Regnier, and Marcia (Greg) Heaton; many nieces and nephews; her dear friend, Tim Griffin; and her beloved dog, Kovu.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Donna Stenzel, and her favorite dog, Zoe.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Thursday, May 29, at St. Mary Church in Wenona with the Franciscan Friars officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 28, at St. Mary’s Church. Additional visitation will be in the church on Thursday from 9:00 AM until time of services. The Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona has been entrusted with her arrangements.
