Patricia Ann Piacenti

Patricia Ann Piacenti, 70, of Peru, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on June 9, 2023.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Tuesday June 20, 2023 in St. Patrick’s Church in La Salle with Rev. Paul Meismer and Rev. Christopher Magesa officiating.  Burial will at a later date.  Visitation will be 4 to 7:00 PM Monday June 19, 2023 in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle.  Additional visitation will be in the church on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until time of services.

Pat was born in Anchorage, AK on July 6, 1952 to Dr. Russell and Mary (Cassidy) Simonetta.  She married Dr. Merle Piacenti on August 14, 1971.  She was a homemaker and worked at Hospital Radiology Service in the early 1990’s.

Pat, known by her grandkids as “Nima, “Eema”, and “Mimi”, was a lover of all things family.  There was nothing she wouldn’t do for her family and friends. Combined with her love for fun and adventure, this led to memorable trips across the country and the world.  From baseball fields to Disney World, the casinos of Vegas to the piazzas of Italy, she made the experience larger than life for anyone involved.  She was truly the best and will be tremendously missed by all that have known her.

Pat is survived by her husband Merle; four children, Rachel Richardson of Chicago, Neil (Bridgett) Piacenti of Evanston, Mary Beth (Jeff) Coffin of Arvada, CO and Marissa (Taylor) Jobe of Santa Barbara, CA; nine grandchildren, Rocco, Riley, Prima, Ford, Fiona, Emelia, Waverly, Isla and Nico; two brothers, Russell Simonetta of Japan and Peter Simonetta of Spring Valley; one sister Theresa Funfsinn of La Salle; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Patricia in infancy and one brother James Simonetta.
