Patricia "Pat" (Henzen) Ajster

Patricia “Pat” Ajster, 91, of La Salle, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2024, in Manor Court of Peru.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Wednesday in St. Patrick’s Church in La Salle with The Very Rev. Thomas Otto officiating.  Burial will be in St. Vincent’s Cemetery in La Salle.  Visitation will be in the church on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until time of services.  The Hurst Funeral Home is entrusted with her funeral arrangements.

Mrs. Ajster was born in La Salle on June 26, 1933, to Pete and Mary (Mindock) Henzen.  She married Edward Ajster in St. Patrick’s Church on September 20, 1958.  She was educated at St. Patrick’s Grade School and graduated from St. Joseph Commercial School in Peru.  Pat was employed at St. Mary’s Hospital and then retired in 1998 from Illinois Valley Community Hospital as the Admission Manager.  She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Patricia is survived by one son Tim (Jamie) Ajster of Oglesby; one daughter Judy Kowalski of La Salle; five grandchildren, Brittany Kowalski, Brett Ajster, Alyssa Ajster, Tricia Wallin and Megan Ellerbrock; two great-grandchildren, Logan Zukowski and Jordan Billek.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward in 1982 and a daughter in infancy Mary Patricia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to donor’s choice.

Pallbearers will be Greg, Mike and Rob Pangrcic, Brett Witek, Brett and Steve Ajster and Rick Plochocki.
