Norma I. Lipka, 87, of Peru, passed away March 24, 2025 at Manor Court of Peru.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, April 10, at the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle with Rev. J.A. Small officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:30 AM until time of services. Burial will be private at Friends Cemetery in McNabb.
Norma was born in Mendota on August 16, 1937 to John R. and Anna C. (Buff) Herbert. She married William “Bill” Lipka III on February 2, 1957. She worked at Westclox and retired as a teacher’s aide in the La Salle Public School system.
Norma enjoyed reading, playing cards, completing puzzles, fishing, and picking mushrooms. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.
Norma is survived by two sons Scott (Rita) Lipka of Peru and William (Cheryl) Lipka IV of Spring Valley; three grandchildren, Keith (Ericka) Lipka of Anna, TX, Emma (Phil) Kopco of Bloomington, and Trenton Lipka of Bloomington; three sisters, Jean (Don) Bialas of Waterman, Elaine Powers of Amboy, and Rita (Walter) Korngiebel of Boscobel, WI; one brother John “Jack” (Sharon) Herbert of Mendota; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Bill on February 18, 2018.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the National Diabetes Association.
