Nerys W. Bernabei

Nerys W. Bernabei, 55, of Dixon, passed away in OSF St. Anthony’s Medical Center in Rockford on March 22, 2021.

Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Saturday April 3, 2021 in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle. Visitation will be 2:00 PM until time of services.

Nerys was born in Neath Port Talbot, Wales on November 30, 1965 to Aelwyn and Gwyneth (Owen) Hughes.  She married Don Bernabei in 1996.

Nerys is survived by one son, Andrew (Chelsey) Maunu of Peru; a granddaughter Freya Maunu of Peru; one brother David (Julie) Hughes of Sacramento, CA; a niece Lyndsey Solario and her son Trevor; sister of her heart Cat and Mark Walker of La Salle; daughter of her heart Cynthia Rauh of Aurora; and all her beloved fur babies.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don, a daughter Nicole Maunu in March of 2006, and a daughter of her heart Amy Rauh.
