Michaeleen D. Stimac

Michaeleen D. Stimac, 79, of Peru, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025 at Allure of Peru.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 PM Friday, May 30, 2025 at St. Valentine’s Church in Peru with Rev. Gary Blake officiating. Burial will be at St. Vincent’s Cemetery in La Salle.  Visitation will be in the church on Friday from 11:00 AM until time of services.  The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is entrusted with her funeral services.

Mrs. Stimac was born in La Salle on January 1, 1946 to William and Lucille (Cassidy) Dittmar.  She was a secretary for U.F.C.W. Local #254 for 15 years, then Grove Construction, and later Boehm Construction.  She married James Stimac on April 11, 1986.

Michaeleen was the life of the party and had a bubbly person personality.  She loved hosting swimming parties all summer long for her family and friends; she also loved traveling, going to Las Vegas and vacationing in Key West, FL.

Michaeleen is survived by her husband James of Peru, many nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law, Rosemary Bristol of Mendota.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, William (Anita) Dittmar, Robert (Bonnie) Dittmar and Richard (Irene “Dolly”) Dittmar; a niece Christine Carlson; and a nephew Daniel (Linda) Dittmar.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Illinois Valley Animal Rescue or American Cancer Association.
