Michael Hefner Obituary
Michael F. Hefner, 68, of rural Granville, passed away May 12, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Hospice Home in Peoria.
Per Michael’s request, cremation rites will be accorded and there will not be any services. The Hurst Funeral Home is entrusted with Michael’s arrangements.
He was born in Peoria on August 27, 1952 to Marion “Jack” and Eileen (Stites) Hefner. He was a graduate of Peoria Manual High School. He married Kit Swahlstedt on December 20, 1989. He was with the local Teamster Union.
Michael is survived by his wife Kit of rural Granville; two sons, Michael (Michelle) Hefner of Morton and Kyle Hefner of Florida; four grandchildren and one great-grandson; three sisters, Donna (Mel) Willgrubs of El Paso, TX., Myra (Dale) Young of Brimfield and Myna (Mike) Aiello of Peoria; one brother Marion “John” (Bonnie) Hefner of Mattoon; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law William Welk.
