Mary Ann Tutko, 93, of Sheffield and formerly of Streator, passed away on February 14, 2021 while residing at Manor Court of Princeton.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be at a later date. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is entrusted with her services.
Mary Ann was born in Streator on August 10, 1927 to Charles and Mary (Mraz) Stehlo. She married Joseph Tutko, and they had four children together. She worked at Thatcher Glass Company in Streator before becoming a homemaker.
Mary Ann was a member of St. Stephen’s Church and active in the choir for many years. She also was a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was a friend of Bill W. for over 40 years. She enjoyed doing whatever she could to help others.
She is survived by a daughter Susan (Richard Nowakowski) Tutko of La Salle and a son Joseph Tutko of Sheffield; a grandson Steven Tutko of Peru; a great-grandson Lucas Tutko of La Salle; and her dear friend Hazel Williams of Sheffield.
She was preceded in death by two daughters , Jo Anne and Diane Tutko, daughter-in-law Tammy Tutko, a brother Joe Stehlo, and three sisters, Tess Safarcyk, Helen Niehaus and Margaret Devera and a nephew Danny Safarcyk.
