Mary Mayerchin Obituary

A much-loved sister, aunt, friend, and co-worker, Mary Lynn Mayerchin, 65, of Ladd, quietly passed away on August 23, 2022 in Manor Court of Princeton and into the arms of her loving husband, Gary and parents, Red and Ceia.

Mary Lynn was born on August 29, 1956 in Spring Valley to Edward and Anastasia (Laicoff) Nestler. She attended Lincoln Elementary, JFK, and graduated from Hall High School in 1974. Following high school, she worked at Lexington House in Spring Valley, and with the law firm of Louis Olivero in Peru before joining Cougar Industries. She was most recently an employee of St. Margaret’s Health in Spring Valley.

Mary Lynn married Gary Mayerchin March 15, 1980 in her parents’ home in Spring Valley. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2021. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James.

Mary Lynn was a friend to many and enjoyed many memorable times with her nieces and nephews. Through the years, she and her husband had several special pets, of which Nina was her most beloved. They will all be waiting to greet her at the Rainbow Bridge, along with her loving husband Gary.

Mary Lynn enjoyed reading, scrapbooking, her collection of dolls and figurines, and in the past, organizing games and family history information for the family reunions. She and her grandmother wrote a collective family history for the family. She also collected owls and felt a special connection with angels, having many in her collection.

Mary Lynn is survived by sisters, Kathy (Louis) Nielsen and Cynthia (Don) Smucker; one brother Tom (Mary Kay) Nestler; nephews Joshua, Marc, and Steven; nieces Sara and Allison; great nephews Edwin and Collin; and great nieces Addison, Anastasia, Ella, and Jena.

Visitation will be Friday in the Hurst Funeral Home in Ladd from 4-7:00 PM with services at 6:30 PM with Pastor Karen Karczewski officiating. Additional visitation will be on Saturday from 10-10:45 AM. Private family burial to follow in Valley Memorial Park in Spring Valley with Deacon John Murphy officiating. Masks would be greatly appreciated. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to her family or Illinois Valley Animal Rescue, 117 Industrial Dr., La Salle, IL 61301.
