Mary M. (Bickett) Konieczny

Mary Margaret (Bickett) Konieczny, 82, of Ladd passed away February 17, 2022 in St. Margaret’s Health in Peru.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Monday in St. Patrick’s Church in Arlington with Rev. Gregory Jarzombek OSB officiating. Burial will be in Ladd Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-6:00 PM Sunday in the Hurst Funeral Home in Ladd with a rosary to be recited at 3:00 PM. Additional visitation will be in the church on Monday from 10:00 AM until time of services. 

Mrs. Konieczny was born in Henderson, KY on December 7, 1939 to Benjamin F. and Dorothy M. (Baird) Bickett. She was a graduate of Dimmick Grade School and LaMoille High School. She worked as a telephone operator in Mendota and then at Westclox in La Salle. She married Raymond F. Konieczny in St. Patrick’s Church in Arlington on October 9, 1971. Mrs. Konieczny was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, the church quilt club, the Ladd American Legion Auxiliary #938, Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary #1229, and the Kewanee Chapter of DAR. She was also a Girls Scout leader for many years. She was interested in tracking her family heritage and also doing Sudoku puzzles. 

Mrs. Konieczny is survived by one daughter Rose (Jose) Chavarria of Aurora.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Raymond in 2007.
