Mary L. Hodgson

Mary L. Hodgson, 91, of Waltham, passed away October 30, 2024 in OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Private funeral services will be in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle with Rev. Joel Stevenor, Pastor of Waltham Presbyterian officiating.  Burial will be in Waltham Presbyterian Cemetery.

Mrs. Hodgson was born at home in Utica on February 9, 1933 to Ed and Agnes (Small) Newcomer.  She married George Hodgson on October 12, 1958.  She was a homemaker.

Mary enjoyed making jewelry, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and fishing.  Her and George spent winters in Everglades, FL.

Mrs. Hodgson is survived by one daughter Sammye (Tom) King of Waltham; two sons, George (Marykay) Hodgson of Waltham and Edwin (Patty) Hodgson of Waltham; 11 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George on September 5, 2002, two brothers, Wesley and Wilfred Newcomer, one sister Dorothy Baker, and two brothers in infancy.
