Marlene S. Lohr, 72, of Wenona, passed away at home on March 30, 2021, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, April 3rd from 1:00 until 4:00 PM in the Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona.
Marlene was born in Washington, IL on November 27, 1948 to Paul and Thelma (Rinkenberger) Chionie. She was a graduate of Toluca High School in 1966. She married Randy Lohr on September 3, 1982. She was a waitress at Capponi’s, Georgetown, Smiley’s, and Boardwalk restaurants. She also enjoyed working at the Toluca Garment Factory along with her father. Marlene enjoyed planting her flowers, shopping, decorating for the holidays, and planning family trips. She loved to spoil her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Randy, her mother; Thelma Chionie of Toluca, seven children; Darren (Judy) Swanson of Wenona, Troy (John) Swanson-Dostaler of Elmhurst, Chad (Melissa) Swanson of Streator, Erica (Chad Baker) Swanson of Wenona, Joel (Nichol) Swanson of Chandler, AZ, Lindsay (Rob) Matthews of Wenona, and Ryan (Lindsey Skaggs) Lohr of Wenona. She was Grandma “Mimi” to eighteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, four siblings; Tricia Mansour and Lora Chionie, both of Henderson, NV, Kevin (Denise) Chionie and Val (Mitch) McCaw, both of Toluca, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Paul.
