Marion Stretch

Marion Stretch, 88, of Wenona, passed away peacefully May 13, 2025 at Clarendale Six Corners Assisted Living Care Home in Chicago.

Mass of Christian burial will be 12:00 PM Saturday, May 17, at St. Mary’s Church in Wenona with Rev. Gregory Jarzombek OSB officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Wenona. Visitation will be in the church on Saturday from 11:00 AM until time of services. The Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona is assisting the family with arrangements.

Marion was born in Chicago on January 8, 1937 to Edward A. and Agnes F. (Kusick) Stretch. She worked at American National Bank and JP Morgan Chase Bank in Chicago.

Marion was very involved and active in the Wenona community and activities including Special Olympics, the American Legion Auxiliary, and her favorite being Wenona Days. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church and would always volunteer to help with funeral luncheons.

Marion is survived by nieces and nephews: Diane (Marty Wallace) Kupczyk, Donna (Ken) Ziolo, Karen (Carl Erickson) Kupczyk, James (Karen Marie) Kupczyk, Tim (Tamsin) Kupczyk, Raymond (Susan) Kupczyk, Sharon Shea, Linda Porter, and Steve Stretch; and many grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers: Catherine V. Kupczyk, Edward A. Stretch, Shirley Ehlert, and Roland Stretch; her loving friend, Stephanie Hamer; nephews: Dan Saad, Jeff Saad, and Paul Stretch.

Memorials may be directed to the Wenona American Legion or Wenona Fire and Ambulance Department.
