Margaret J. Floyd

Margaret J. Floyd, 87, of DePue passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s on November 14, 2024 at Allure Nursing Center in Peru.

A Celebration of Life will be Wednesday November 20 from 4-6:00 PM at the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle.

Mrs. Floyd was born in Benton, KY on August 4, 1937 to Edgar and Ruby Collins. She worked as a nurse’s aide at People’s Hospital and then worked in home healthcare. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and spending time with her dog Jesse. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Floyd is survived by her daughter Barbara Cox of Valparaiso, IN; two sons Stan Jones of Peru and Steve Kent of La Salle; three grandchildren Alex Kent, Zach Kent, and Logan Jones; and two great-grandchildren Charli and Parker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and two sisters.
